CFO Science Inc. (“CFO Science”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides fractional CFO, controller, and bookkeeping services to businesses across Canada and the United States. The firm is led by a CA(SA)-qualified accountant and operates in accordance with applicable professional standards. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to the website only. They do not replace any engagement letter or written agreement we sign with a client; where the engagement letter conflicts with these terms, the engagement letter governs.

The content on this site, including pages about our services, the blog, and general guidance, is provided for general information only. It is not professional advice, and you should not rely on it for any specific decision. Every business is different. Reading something on this site does not create an advisory, accountant–client, or any other professional relationship between you and CFO Science.

3. No engagement until we agree in writing
We provide professional services only under a written engagement letter signed by both you and CFO Science. Until that letter is signed:
- We have no obligation to act on your behalf.
- Any discussions, proposals, or fee estimates are preliminary and not binding.
- Information you send us may not be treated as confidential client information for the purposes of professional privilege.
If a matter is urgent, please make that clear when you contact us.
4. Permitted use
You may view, browse, and download pages from this site for your own personal or internal business use. You may share links to our pages. You may quote short excerpts of our content with attribution.
You may not:
- Copy, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of the site without our written permission.
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
- Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the site at a volume that affects its operation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited under Ontario or Canadian law. This limitation does not affect liability arising under a separately signed engagement letter.

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the site, you acknowledge that policy.
11. Indemnity
If your use of the site breaches these terms or any applicable law, and that causes loss, damage, or expense to CFO Science, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable costs we incur, including legal fees.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Any dispute arising from the site or these terms will be brought exclusively before the courts of Ontario, and you submit to the jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the site.
